“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
It’s so refreshing to know that God looks at each one of us as his “masterpiece.” It’s like he’s Leonardo Da Vinci and we’re The Mona Lisa. All he wants to do is show us off to the world by having us do the good things he’s had planned for us for so long; Essentially it’s God’s will for us to shine. Where the problem lies is that lots of times we don’t see ourselves as a masterpiece; sometimes all we see is a mess. I know that’s what I saw myself as for a long time, a mess. I’d begin to get closer to God and see change in my life, then my mess would get in the way. There have been times in my life where I’ve felt like I’d never get to where God wants me to go, and sometimes there still are. Then he began to remind me that he Loves me so much and that my mess will never be big enough for him to change the way he looks at me. And the same goes for all of us. It’s called Grace, and it’s available through Christ.
Paintings are about angles. The angle that you view it from can cause you to Love it or hate it. We often view ourselves from the wrong angles instead of looking from the ones that God is looking at us from. God is calling for us to come up to where he is, so we can see ourselves the way he sees us. When we begin to look at ourselves the way God does, then and only then will we be able to move in all that he has called us to do.
My prayer is that God begins to shift you to a position where you can see yourself how he sees you. His purpose is in you, and you were called to a time such as this to fulfill that purpose.
