“I will send terror ahead of you to drive out the Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites. But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals would multiply and threaten you. I will drive them out a little at a time until your population has increased enough to take possession of the land.”
Exodus 23:28-30 (NLT)
The Lord told the Israelites that he would give them the land that their enemies possessed, but he would give it to them a little at a time. Reason for this is because he wanted them to grow and get stronger as a people so they would be able to manage what he promised them. The same goes for us; God has plans for us to do amazing things, but he wants to develop us so we’re able to handle the blessings that he has for us. That’s why our trials play such a big part in our lives; they help strengthen us so we can be good stewards of what’s rightfully ours.
So don’t despise the challenges you face or the time it takes for the things God has promised you to manifest. Just know that you are being developed, so when he does give it, you won’t ever lose it.
