“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

John 10:10 (KJV)

Recently I went to the home-going┬áservice of one of my cousins who passed in a motorcycle accident. When I got the news, the first thing I wanted to know was if he was in right standing with The Lord before he left this earth. I found out on the day of his service he had rededicated his life to Christ just days before the accident. He was doing lots of peculiar things before the accident as well, which lead me to believe that he knew something was going to happen. It also lets me know that he was sensitive to the voice of The Lord, and there’s no doubt in my mind that he took advantage of Jesus’ offer of abundant life and is with him in Heaven right now. He was only 29 yrs old at the time of his passing.

Death is always a touchy issue that lots of us don’t like to talk about. We think we’ll live forever, but we’ll all have our day, it’s inevitable. The best thing we can do is cash in on the great opportunity for eternal life that Jesus has given us, because we never know when our time is coming. So why not be ready for it?
